“Manufacturing is more than just putting parts together. It’s coming up with ideas, testing principles, and perfecting the final assembly.”
-James Dyson, Dyson Vacuums Ltd.
Welcome to the Future Makers manufacturing activity by MAKE Publishing! We are honored to have you and your family on board. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and equip the next generation to win in manufacturing. The goal of each activity is to show your kids that they can manufacturer too! It’s never too early to get started.
The Clean-Up Challenge activity is a hands-on activity that encourages children to design and create their own tools for cleaning up their toys. This activity enables important skills like problem-solving, creativity and responsibility, while also tidying up their toys!
Creativity: Allows children to think outside the box and create new innovative ways to pick-up toys.
Problem-Solving: Provides children the ownership of a task and creating their own tool to accomplish it.
Family Bonding: This activity is a fun family project that parents and children can work together with - sharing ideas and building something functional and fun!
After the Clean-Up Challenge, encourage your child to share their creation with family and friends. Demonstrating how the tool works and showcasing how they build it.
This activity matches what you will find in the book Blake Explores Manufacturing or in our October 2023 newsletter building activity. We encourage kids to build a tool to help clean-up their toys. Incorporating creative and Sign-up for our newsletter to get the Clean-Up Challenge!
